Yikes! Turning 30!

Today, I turned 30.

Holy crap, cannot believe I actually wrote that out! I have been dreading this day for a long time.. to be honest, I always dread my birthdays. I know a lot of people are into the whole “another year older, another year wiser” thing, but I am the total opposite! If I could stay in my early 20’s forever, I’d be the happiest little thang.

But of course, that’s not a possible scenario. So instead, here I am, 30 years of my life under my belt, not really sure about where life is going to take me. When I look back on my youth, I was convinced that my life would be extremely different to what it is now. I had it all planned out to a T (as I’m sure most of us do), and no one could have told me otherwise. How wrong I was!

I definitely did get married (check), bought a house (check) did NOT have children, did NOT continue in my career, and definitely did NOT travel the world. I know all good things take time, so I am grateful for what I currently have and know that with some more hard work, the other things will come. For now, I’m content with how my life turned out and I count my blessings every day. I probably have a lot more than I actually deserve, hahah.

On a positive note, we are currently in Italy (because seriously, what better way to ring in the big 3-0?). I wanted to share some of these photos from a set we recently did to celebrate this milestone in my life. Hopefully when I’m celebrating my 50th (crying, most likely) I can look back at these and wonder what the heck my fabulous self was so miserable about anyway. Who knows!
